The Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 4 cups chicken flour
  • 2.5 cups white flour
  • 3 cups fine white sugar
  • 300 grams of bakers’ choice at room temperature
  • 3 cups liquid milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon each (turmeric, fine anise)
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts

How to prepare

  1. In a bowl, mix the white flour with the chicken flour, turmeric and anise.
  2. Add Bakers Choice and start rubbing Bakers Choice with the ingredients until you have a fluffy mixture.
  3. In a different bowl, dissolve the caster sugar in 3 cups of liquid milk until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Add the milk to the flour and mix the ingredients until you have a smooth and cohesive dough.
  5. In a tray suitable for the oven, brush the bottom and sides of the tray with tahini.
  6. Spread the dough in the tray evenly and spread the pine nuts on top.
  7. Put the tray in the oven at 200°C for 30 minutes.
  8. After 30 minutes, remove the tray from the oven, let it cool slightly, then cut it into cubes and serve with syrup or syrup
